What is BIG FOUR?
BIG FOUR is a race series established by Sparta Athletics & Running and IRONMAN Denmark and supported by the official tourism organization of Copenhagen, Wonderful Copenhagen.
The BIG FOUR series is made up of four Greater Copenhagen Achievements, which are chosen based on the physical performance required, the classic distances, and the international format of the race events.
How to become a BIG FOUR finisher?
To enter into the BIG FOUR Hall of Fame, you must complete all four BIG FOUR events within the same year. You have to sign up for the four events individually, and once you finish the last event in the series, which is the Copenhagen Half Marathon, you will be registered as a BIG FOUR finisher * and receive an invitation to the annual celebration ceremony.
(Please note! The participant lists from the four events are coordinated manually, and therefore it is important that you register by the same name, last name and date of birth when signing up. If you have copleted the BIG FOUR series within the same calendar year and havn't heard from us, please write to [email protected] so we can have you registered.)

As a BIG FOUR finisher you form a network of hundreds of dedicated athletes, and you will be get exclusive invitations and offers.
Chasing the fastest time
Beside the honor there are also prizes at stake. There are prizes for the female and male finisher with the overall fastest time.
In the 2016, the premiere year of BIG FOUR, 35 athletes completed a BIG FOUR. In 2019, the number of BIG FOUR finishers have increased to 220!
The men's and women's records are:
17 hours 05 minutes 47 seconds by Jacob Lemholt in 2018
19 hours 39 minutes 48 seconds by Lærke Lilleøre in 2017
At the annual BIG FOUR celebration ceremony, the fastest BIG FOUR finishers of the year are awarded.
