The traditional New Year’s Race is a fun and festive running event for the whole family and your friends 🥳

Choose exactly the distance that fits your age, ability, mood or current shape and let’s finish 2022 with an amazing running finale.

After the race, we serve sparkling wine and traditional Danish New Year’s cake and lemonade and snacks for the children🥂🍾

Don’t forget a costume or a New Year’s hat! There will be prizes for the best and funniest costumes 🎉

Distances & starting times

Choose your distance and starting time:

⏱ 9:30 AM – 2 km kid’s race
⏱ 9:35 AM –  5 km / 10 km / 21,1 km
⏱ 11:00 AM – 2 km kid’s race
⏱ 11:05 AM – 5 km / 10 km

Parents are more than welcome to run along with their children, however, all participants must be signed up for whatever distance they’ll be running.

Courses

All courses start and finish at Gunnar Nu Hansens Plads 11, DK-2100 Copenhagen, and run through ‘Fælledparken’ in Østerbro.

All courses are officially measured. 10 km and half marathon runners complete 2 or 4 loops respectively on the 5 km course (green course). There will be a refreshment station offering water and High5 energy drink in the start/finish area which means that 10 km and half marathon runners will pass by every 5 km.

Practical information

Entry: Online entry is open until race start or as long as spots are available.
Be aware that the event is expected to sell out before event day!

Bib number: Your can pick up your bib number on the day of the event or during the days before.
You will receive an email containing a QR code which is required to collect your bib number.

Race timing: Race timing is carried out by means of a timing chip integrated on the backside of your bib number.
Make sure to attach it visibly on the front of your vest. Splits will be available for every 5 km.

Baggage storage: It is possible to have your items stored during your race. It is free and attended, however, at the entrant’s own risk.

Toilets: There will be outdoor and indoor toilets available.

Hydration and supplies: There will be a refreshment station at the start/finish and for every 5 km.
Finishers can enjoy a glas of sparkling wine, traditional Danish New Year’s cake, lemonade and snack for the kids.
