Lace up your running shoes and join friends and family for the final run of the year

The New Year’s Run is the grand finale of the season. A festive celebration for runners of all ages and levels.

You can take part in the 2 km kids’ run or challenge yourself with 5 km, 10 km, or 21.1 km.
After crossing the finish line, we’ll raise a toast to the New Year inside Sparta Hallen, where bubbles, treats, and a joyful atmosphere await runners big and small.
And don’t forget your costume!
There are prizes for 20 of the most creative and festive outfits.

Running with your child

The kids’ run is open to children and young runners up to 15 years old.

Adults can sign up as accompanying runners for a fee of DKK 30 to join their child on the 2 km course. Accompanying adults enjoy bubbles and kransekage after the race, but will not have a registered time.
Only one accompanying adult can be registered per child.

  • You can pick up your race bib in the days leading up to the event (details will follow).

It’s also possible to collect your bib on race day, but please be aware that we expect long queues – so arrive early. Bib collection takes place in the tents in front of Sparta’s building at Gunnar Nu Hansens Plads 11, 2100 Copenhagen.

Your race bib must be clearly visible on your clothing during the run.

Each bib contains a timing chip, so make sure not to cover it with your arm when crossing the start and finish lines (for example, when starting or stopping your sports watch).

  • There will be a staffed bag drop available from 8:00 AM until the last runner has finished. Please note that all bags are left at your own risk.

The bag drop is located inside Idrætshuset on Gunnar Nu Hansens Plads, Østerbro.

Please note that access to the bag drop is from the stadium side, at the back of Idrætshuset.
Enter through the gate next to Sparta’s office and walk toward the stadium. Follow the signs and turn left along the back of Idrætshuset.

  • There will be prizes for the first, second, and third-place finishers in both the men’s and women’s categories.

We’ll also award prizes to the most creative and best-dressed runners – both kids and adults.
