INFORMATION REGARDING COPENHAGEN ATHLETICS GAMES 2024

Arrival

Upon arrival at Copenhagen Airport we will have volunteers helping you with purchasing a ticket for the train to ØSTERPORT STATION for those, who are staying at the official hotel HOTEL ØSTERPORT.

Make sure to get off at ØSTERPORT STATION as you get up to the street level, the hotel is located right across the station.

All meals will be served at Hotel Østerport

  • Breakfast: 6:30-9:30
  • Lunch Monday: sandwiches are available
  • Lunch Tuesday: 12:00-14:30
  • Dinner Monday: 17:30-20:00
  • Dinner Tuesday: 19:30-22:00

Physiotherapy/massage – Room 201

We will have a physio (Sebastiano Erbi) available at the hotel Monday (13-17) and Tuesday (10-14) and on stadium Tuesday evening. There will be at list on the door, where you can sign up for a short treatment. Room number to be announced at the hotel.

Departure

There will be volunteers at the hotel helping you get on the train to the airport on Wednesday. Please confirm at the Information desk at the hotel, that your departure is correct.

Accreditation

Will take place at the Athlete Information desk at Hotel Østerport or at Østerbro Stadium on arrival to the stadium Tuesday after 16:30.

Bibs

Athletes staying at Hotel Østerport will receive their competition bibs at the athlete information desk at Hotel Østerport or at Østerbro Stadium on arrival to the stadium Tuesday after 16:30.

All other athletes should collect their bibs at the athlete information desk at Østerbro Stadium at least 60 minutes before the start.

Payment of prize money will be arranged through the manager or athlete. Information about bank account should be sent by email to [email protected] no later than October 15th.

Busses for training and competition

Schedule for busses Monday for training and Tuesday for competition will be available at the hotel from Monday morning.

Training Monday

It will be possible to pratice at the competition stadium Monday at 13-19. From 16-19 there will also be other users at the stadium.

Warm up

Warm up should take place in the throwing area next to the stadium, the park surrounding it (Fælledparken) or in the indoor track Sparta Hallen. Please see the map here: https://sparta.dk/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/cag-MAP-nordic.pdf

Call Room (entering/leaving infield)

All athletes need to meet up in the call room in order to enter the stadium.

  • Running events: at latest 20 minutes before the start
  • Pole Vault: at latest 60 minutes before the start
  • All other field events: at latest 30 minutes before the start

In the Call Room the officials will check the following in accordance with World Athletics Rules:

Personal belongings (video cameras, mobile phones and similar devices) will not be permitted in the infield.

All athletes participating in track events should leave the stadium through the mixed zone immediately after the finish line. Athletes competing in field events will be escorted away through the mixed zone by an official.

Information for coaches

All personal coaches need to register for accreditation in the athlete information desk at Hotel Østerport or at Østerbro Stadium on arrival to the stadium Tuesday after 16:30.

There are reserved specific coaching zones for most of the events. In order to get acces to coaching zones infield the coach need to meet at the Call Room together with the athlete. The coaches will be escorted to the infield and away from there. There will only be one coach accreditation per athlete.

Field events

Each athlete is allowed a minimum of two practice trials under the supervision of the officials, more if time allows. Once the practice trials are finished, the participants will be asked to stand in order of the competition for the presentation. Presentation will be approximately 2 minutes before the start.

All participating athletes have the right to 3 attempts. After 3 rounds, the 8 athletes with the best result, will have the right to 3 more attempts. After 3 rounds the order will be ranked by the result from the first 3 rounds, where the athletes with the best result will be the last to have the attempt.

Long Jump will be using the 2-meter board.

Personal throwing implements

Personal throwing implements will have to be submitted to the information desk at Østerbro Stadium no later than 60 minutes before the competition starts in that event. You will get a receipt and have to show that receipt to the Chief Referee of the event to get your implements back after the competition. The information desk will ensure that the implements are brought to the competition area.

Track events

100m and 100m hurdles: 3 fastest athletes from each heat + 2 fastest times will advance to final (3Q+2q).

  • 800m Women: 58 seconds
  • Mile Men: 57 / 1.54 / 2.52 / 3.49
  • 2000m Steeplechase Men for 5.21: 64 / 2.08 / 3.13 / 4.17
  • 5000m Women for 15.10: 73 / 2.26 / 3.38 / 4.51 / 6.04 / 7.17 / 8.30 / 9.42 / 10.55 / 12.08 / 13.21 / 14.34
  • 5000m Men for 12.56: 63 / 2.06 / 3.10 / 4.13 / 5.16 / 6.19 / 7.22 / 8.26 / 9.29 / 10.32 / 11.35 / 12.38

Jump progression: 350 – 370 – 385 – 400 – 410 – 420 – 430 – 440 – 446 – 451 + 5 cm

Anti doping

The Danish Anti Doping Agency will be present at the meeting. In case you need to contact the doping authorities e.g. for a national record, please contact Charlotte Beiter Bomme +45 21 27 07 48.
